ITEM: MAKING STREET BLADES

DESCRIPTION: Making street blades vary from technical guide "Making Projecting/Flag Mounts" (see 4409MMM) only with minor amendments, by the requirement to place more than one sign and rotate the sign to various directions.

CONSTRUCTION: All materials used are the Sign One components and/or standard aluminum extrusion, readily available from specialist aluminium suppliers.

SPECIFICATION:
STEP 1: A – select length of sign post and cut to length
STEP 2: B – post infill section P1484R (see 4409CC) is cut to length after calculating length required to close off post, and insert into post.
STEP 3 C – make up Sign One frame into sign size required (see 4409EE) and insert into post.
STEP 4: D – projecting signs expose the fixings on end of signs, Your options are D – countersunk screws finished to suit colour of sign frame
D1 – cap off with BiFix caps
D1 – use fixings to end frame on top and bottom of horizontal frame, will in most cases hide fixings. The fixing can then be finished with same colour as frame or capped off.
STEP 5: E – cut required length of Sign One pvc hex bar or 12mm ( 1/2") aluminium rod (or other suitable material) and insert into hex opening in centre of Sign One post (see 4409DD No. 3) and E1 mechanically fix, allowing this to extend pass the top of the Sign One post to accept additional post sections (see DIAGRAM B)
STEP 6: F – place spacer disc onto hex bar (or central rod) this disc is to be made from 3mm ( 1/8") aluminium cut over size to the post by 4mm ( 1/8"). This oversize allows rotation of each street blade smoothly, while disguising the flat section of the post.
STEP 7: Repeat Steps 1 – 4 as required for additional street blades.

APPLICATIONS: Directional street blades signposting.
